About Us

Our History

The Printing Press was established in 1978 with the purchase of the Commercial Printing Division of the Enterprise newspaper by George and Mary L. (Pritzi) Klear.  George was Plant Manager at the Enterprise for twenty-five years.  The Printed Press remained at the Enterprise location for one year.

On April 1st, 1979, we re-located to our current location on Courthouse Drive in Leonardtown, after family and friends vigorously and proudly constructed our building.  Moving all the equipment over the course of a weekend, also by family and friends, loosing only one day of production.  With an average of 10 employees over the many years, we have strived to provide personalized service to businesses, organizations and individuals for over 40+ years.

George died suddenly on November 4th, 2004, leaving Pritzi, Kerry (son) and Jill (Kerry’s wife) to continue and add to the many production capabilities we currently provide "in-house" to the Southern Maryland and surrounding areas.

We continued to offer a full line of offset printing along with bindery services that were the latest and greatest for that time period.  With the introduction of digital printing machinery, we gradually introduced digital production and expanded our pre print and post print capabilities.   We have gone from using third party vendors for some “specialized work” to producing all but a very few projects within our walls.  We have accomplished many new services and our employees remain dedicated to our image and progress.

We proudly offer personalized service, reasonable pricing, fast turn around and a printed proof at your request and at times as our requirement, before your job is produced.  We are extremely competitive in both price and turnaround with all the “big box stores” i.e.  Staples, UPS Store, Kinkos, etc.

In George’s memory we strive to continue rendering quality production, outstanding customer service and satisfaction along with our continued commitment to support the businesses and Local Community Organizations – all that George was known for.

We appreciate your business.
